Busy weekend ahead!

Hello lovelies!!

I'm excited to have so much planned for this weekend!! First the 11-13th I'm a steampunk guest of honor along with my very talented fiance Nick Valentino for Virtual Con! The fun thing about this con is you can attend from the comfort and convenience of your own home! I have a panel at 8:30pm Friday night and a reading at 4:30 on Sunday!

Also this weekend, Nick and I are attending the Mechanical Masquerade in Atlanta, GA!! I can't wait it is going to be so much fun! I get to dress up and see some friends I haven't seen in awhile and maybe sell a book or two! :)

Other then that, I've just been a busy little bee as always! Working on wedding plans, plotting new books, etc, etc!!

I think that wraps things up! So until next time my lovelies!

In which the romance author descends into mushy, romantic ramblings...

Hello my lovelies!

I must warn you I am in a very sentimental mood today!! hehe Also, reading further may induce vomiting, but you've been warned!

Anywho, I was just reflecting today on how lucky I am. The last year(I'm guessing its my birthday being tomorrow that has me reflecting) has been seriously life changing and crazy, in a good way! The most amazing part of it has been Nick Valentino, he has shown me that you can find someone that loves you for you, someone that doesn't want to change you, but embraces you as a person. He has been endlessly amazing and supportive of me in every aspect of my life, family, writing, our relationship, etc.

I've spent most of my life trying to change myself to fit the situation, never being able to be liked or loved for who I am. I thought that a happy relationship was a myth and you had to make do with whatever was the best you could find. I'm not blaming past relationships, I'm blaming myself for not having the guts to just be me. When I finally got the courage to stop living a false life and just be me I thought it would be eternally me against the world since I wasn't willing to compromise any more.

Then by chance, coincidence, whatever you want to call it I met Nick. We couldn't have been a worse match, by circumstances, we lived on opposite ends of the country, I had 3 kids, etc, etc, etc. Yet, through all those odds we have carried on and we have the most amazing, strong, loving, passionate relationship. It's more then I could have ever hoped or dreamed for.

So my point behind this post...I actually have two reasons for it. Number one-please don't ever sell yourself short, we all want to be in a relationship and to be loved, but it isn't worth compromising to the point you lose yourself to have it. You can find someone that you can just be you with, that is filled with all the excitement and passion you deserve.

And my second reason is to say...Babe, I love you so much and thank you for being the wonderful, amazing man that you are and I'm honored and excited to spend the rest of my life with you.

I love the fall and Hallowen!!

I love everything about the fall, the cooler weather, pumpkin lattes, pumpkin pie, pumpkin beer, scary movies, Halloween, all of it!!

Nick and I have been on a major horror movie streak, classics, cheesey, teen screams, you name it, we've been watching it! :) Help us out and give us your recomendations, what scary movies are your favorites?

I'm also ADDICTED to pumpkin beer!! It's so freaking good! If you haven't tried it yet, go try some now!!! I love when I can find one that really tastes like pumpkin pie...but beer! So good!! I also get like a giddy school girl when I see the first advertisment for pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks! Seriously, I squeel with delight and do a happy dance!!

October is my very
favorite month of fall and not just because it's my birthday...no really...I swear...lol It's because of Halloween!! I LOVE Halloween!! All the dark, spooky, scary, fun of my favorite holiday really makes me like a giddy school girl! I've been so busy this month I've had no time to decorate, but my adorable Halloween elf(aka Nick) did the decorating for me!! Nick and I are going to dress up as Van Helsing and Anna Valerious! We thought it was a good couple costume! :)What are you going to be for Halloween??

I think thats it for now...until next time...don't do anything I wouldn't do! ;)

Real life romance!!

Hi lovelies!

I know I normally talk about my romance books here, well today I'm going to swerve into real life and tell you a little something romantic about me! :)

Two days ago, the love of my life, Nick Valentino, got down on one knee on the steps of the Parthenon in Nashville, Claddagh ring in hand, asking me to marry him. The whole thing is kind of this mass of happy, glowy, feelings that is kind of a blur because it was unexpected and amazing and I was so happy to say YES!!!!

I was sort of clueless as to what he was up to, I swear my hair is blonde at the roots...we were going to go out for dinner and he asked if we could stop by the park because there was an art show going on first. I was like sure, sounds fun, but I have nothing to wear(I was behind on laundry)so can we stop at goodwill(romantic huh?) so I can see if I can find a new shirt or something. He was so sweet and patient while I spent which must have felt like an eternity to him, digging through the racks...I did find an awesome dress which I wore...seems more fitting then the two day worn shirt I had on to be proposed in, still if I'd know what he was up to...there is no way I would have wasted an hour digging though the goodwill racks!! lol

Anyways, it was so amazing, sweet and romantic and I can't wait to marry him! Stay tuned for all the craziness that is going to follow as I plan our Irish/steampunk wedding!!

*hugs and kisses*

Wow...it's been awhile...

Hello my lovelies!! I can't believe how long it's been since my last post!! I've been such a busy bee, with working, book stuff and craziness this summer!! So a few things I probably should have told you all ages ago...

First off, Bound by Blood, my vampire romance novel came out in print last month! You can get your own copy here http://www.amazon.com/Bound-Blood-Elizabeth-Darvil/dp/1616503041/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310662122&sr=8-1 This book is very dear to my heart for a few different reasons, it was the first book I contracted and it is my first full length novel to go into print and it has vampires and lots of hot, sexy biting!! ;) I would love you forever if you've read it, if you went to amazon and reviewed it for me too!! :)

I also got the cover art for the new steampunk anthology I have a story in and I'm super excited about it!! It looks great!! I'm also super excited about this anthology because its the first antho that me and my amazing boyfriend Nick Valentino are in together. :) I should have a release date soon!!

I'm starting work on a really naughty, fun erotic series that I am so excited about!! I will share more details soon!!

Other then what, I've just been having a crazy, but wonderful summer. Although I would really like it if there was no sun or heat in the summer... Just sayin.... I hope you guys are all having a great summer too!! Until next time, remember...don't do anything I wouldn't do!!! hehe

Hockey is sexy and it has nothing to do with the hocky players...

Although some of the players are kinda sexy! So, last night it was a disapointing loss for the Preds, they played hard and put up a good fight, but alas their time in the playoffs is done. I decided in tribute to my new found love of hockey and all the things I've learned since going to all the Preds games to devote a post to all the dirty things the announcers say with a straight face... I'm just going to list them out, not explain them, because where is the fun in that...so read and enjoy!!

1.) He needs to delay his release...
2.) Get it in...
3.) Get it in deeper!(because who doesn't like that?) hehe
4.) He is just pounding his body.
5.) Getting it in the backend.
6.) He is good at controlling his stick.(always a good thing. Right?)
7.) He's got to get it in the slot!(sometimes this is an issue, or so I've heard) lol
8.) He just got double teamed!
9.) Four man scrum(tell me this doesn't sound dirty!)
10.)Hornquist slides it in!
11.)He needs to stimulate the puck.(lucky puck!)
12.)He needs to get it in the other end!

These are a few of my favorites! They caused me endless amounts of laughter this season and I look forward to hearing some new ones next season! I hope you enjoyed them!

Until next time lovelies, remeber, don't do anything I wouldn't do!

A lovely, little heard of movie I adore!

I watched the movie 'Franklyn' again last night, I'd quite forgotten just how much I adore this movie. It's certainly not for everyone, but it is a lovely, haunting story of tormented souls and fate. Eva Green is magnificent and gorgeous as always(I have a serious girl crush on her and the rest of the cast, including Ryan Phillippe are brilliant. There is even a good dose of a very steampunky atmosphere in parts of the movie. If you are looking for something a little different that will make you think, give 'Frankyln' a shot. If you've seen it, let me know if you loved it as much as I do.

Until next time my lovelies!

I admit...I enjoy eating poodles...

Really I do! Just not the fluffy kind! I know I've been teasing you all with my poodle eating ways on facebook, so I figured I'd better fess up before you all started unfriending me, thinking I'm an eater of man's best friend! I first tried a poodle from the food truck at Clockwork Carnival the other day and it was DELICIOUS!! Basically what it is, is an all beef hot dog, nestled in a french toast bun and topped with carrot and apple slaw and drizzled with maple syrup and brown mustard! Sounds weird, I know, but it is so good!! I don't have an "official" recipe, but I will pass on what I did when I recreated this cullinary wonder! I suggest an ice cold beer with it, its an amazing combo!!

French Poodle - Lizzie style!

Makes 4 poodles

Bun: Beat together 2 eggs with 2 Tbls milk. Soak outside of the hot dog buns in the mixture and cook in pan as you would french toast.

Slaw: Shred 1 peeled granny smith apple, 1 peeled large carrot, mix together with 1 Tbls red wine vinegar, a pinch of sugar and a dash of pepper and garlic salt.

Place grilled hot dog in your french toast bun and top with the slaw then drizzle with maple syrup and brown mustard and ENJOY!!

This concludes today's episode of cooking with Elizabeth...hehehe

Anyways, hope you enjoy and as always, until next time, don't do anything I wouldn't do!!

Alabama Bookfest, The Clockwork Carnival and zombie town!!

Hello lovelies!! So this last weekend was crazy and amazing!! Friday we drove all the way from Nashville to Montgomery, AL in crazy driving rain and lightning and thunderstorms! Upon arriving, we drove down the deserted streets of downtown until we located our hotel. Once inside we noticed the distinct smell of sewage in the lobby, a deserted bar with no alcohol and a big water fountain with no water...charming! Anywho, we check in, go up to our room and there is about a dozen things wrong with the room, including no remote or way to shut the bathroom door...all this I could handle...but then I noticed there was only DECAF coffee in the room, this was not acceptable. Upon inquiring if I could get some regular coffee, I was informed they were out...no one and I repeat no one wants to see me on no coffee in the morning... So, despite all of these weird things, we cuddle into bed, ready to get a good night sleep before our crazy day with two events starting bright and early the next morning(entitled: Crazy Saturday)...right as I was drifting off to sleep...the party picks up next door, complete with people repeatedly knocking on our door...sigh...this continued until 5am...we had to be up at 6am.. So, we are up and about, soldiering on without coffee and no sleep, strapping on our boots and for me lacing up my corset...we had serious books to sell! lol We got to the fest and got set up, I loved seeing my bright and shiny 'Love Like Clockwork' anthologies on the table! The bookfest was super fun and everyone was really nice!! We sold some books which is always good, had a few epic battles including high winds and our very tall stand up banner, but all in all I would call this event a win! Then it was time to quickly pack up the table in record time, haul the boxes back to the car(this cause me to pull a muscle in my shoulder, this only really just got better yesterday, jeez I'm a whimp) We jumped in our little ghetto car(he likes his name, so this isn't an insult)and sped off to Atlanta, GA for The Clockwork Carnival, put on by the fabulous Dr. Q! This event was super fun and I got to hang out with John Strangeway(aka. Steampunk Boba Fett) and a bunch of other really amazing people! We drank homemade beer, ate poodles and had a general all around fun time!! Sunday: We slept in, which was nice and then headed for home! The drive wasn't so bad, we always manage to entertain ourselves by making fun of billboards and such(we are dorks), once home it was a mad dash to get changed and head out for some food and then to the first home game for the Nashville Predators in the Stanley Cup Playoffs! Let me say, I'm not a huge sports fan, but have always enjoyed hockey and since Nick is a HUGE Preds fan, I've been going to a lot of games and have developed a serious fondness for this team, especially for player #22(my favorite number)Jordin Tootoo(and yes he is the one in the hot tub pic)! He is awesome!! And when he gets a goal(which he did at this game), he is so cute and excited! lol Anyways, the game was rad and we won!! Go Preds! So, that wraps up the retelling of my crazy, busy weekend!! Until next time my lovelies and remember...don't do anything I wouldn't do!
*hugs and kisses*

Hello lovelies! I know, I know two blog posts in two days...please don't die from shock! :) Anywho, so I stumbled across this awhile ago and I'm sure most of you have heard of it, but I have to share anyways! As a romance author I'm always looking for things that are sexy and wow, you know nothing says sexy like 3000 yards of fleece with sleeves...right? Well, it sure the hell is sexy with the invention of the Snuggie Sutra!! That's right, you read that right...the Snuggie Sutra..its real and you know you can't wait to try it, so go get yourself a snuggie and enjoy these fine examples of some of the magical positions you can achieve! And if any of you have given this a whirl, fess up and tell me...just how erotic is the Snuggie Sutra?

And my personal favorite!!

This last week I did a phootshoot with Nick Valentino(my super talented, very sexy boyfriend) with some very talented photography students at the Nossi College of Art in Nashville, TN. Sucker Punch!!

Hello Lovelies!! So, today I finally was able to go see Sucker Punch!! I've been waiting to see this movie for what feels like ever...basically since it was announced last year. I already knew I loved the costumes, I totally plan on making Sweet Pea's and probably Baby Doll's outfits, but would I like the movie, well that was a wait and see. I was expecting a mindless, fun action movie and had very low expectations story-wise going in. Were my expectations meet, exceeded or was it just a disappointment? I would say that my expectations were exceeded in someways, I found the story to be pretty compelling and the characters to be more likable and sympathetic then I expected, there wasn't the constant in your face action that I was expecting, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It was visually amazing for sure, although at times the action sequences played out a bit like a music video, but there is an explanation for that. So...what does my rambling mean you ask?? Did I love it, hate it, would I encourage you to go see it?? The answer is I liked it quite alot, maybe more than I expected to, is everyone going to like it? No. But, if you like visually awesome, somewhat dark action movies with really hot girls in really hot clothes, then yes....get thee to the theater!! I will leave you with the trailer and by all means if you've seen it comment below and let me know what you thought! ~Elizabeth

Wild, Wild West Con 2011

Hello Lovelies! So, I know its been awhile, I've been a very naughty girl and haven't been posting frequently as promised! Things have been crazy busy as always and I have some really amazing announcements I am dying to share with you guys as soon as I can! *grin* I've also been traveling alot, yeah, whats new right? Most recently I braved the desert and headed to Tucson, AZ for Wild, Wild West Con!! It was held between two venues, the hotel(which don't get me started on that, lets just say the hot water incident was one of many...) lol and Old Tucson studios where they filmed such movies as Tombstone and The Quick and the Dead and tons of other westerns. This location was AMAZING!!! I spent the entire weekend hanging out in an old western town complete with ponies, cowboys and a gunfight at high noon! Throw a bunch of steampunkers in there and you've got yourself all kinds of awesome!!
I shared a table with the awesomely talented and dashingly handsome Nick Valentino in the Inn, directly across from the saloon, which housed can can dancers and beer...uh...hell yeah!! We sold a fair amount of books and had a blast getting to know our neighbors in the inn! David Lee Summers who was not only hilarious and super nice, but an amazing author as well and the awesome and fun folks that are responsible for the forthcoming steampunk adventure web series, "Mantecoza" despite having the catch phrase, "steam your saber" stuck in my head for ever more, I love them all dearly! Visit their fb page and make sure to comment with "Steam Your Sabre" and then tell them I sent ya!! We were also randomly graced with the presence of the very lovely ladies and amazing steampunk authors, Cherie Priest and Oliva Grey. I did my first two official reading there, one for the masses and one very naughty late night reading and I must say I believe much fun was had by all!! I want to shout out a special thank you to Ryan McMann for putting on such an amazing event!! I absolutely can't wait until next year!! I met so many wonderful people there, I can't list you all, but I love each and every one of you! *hugs and kisses* I will embed the trailed for Mantecoza for your viewing pleasure at the bottom of this post!! Until next time! ~Liz

P.S. Blogger is being a giant pain in my ass right now and not letting me insert pictures below all ghetto style...*sigh*

This is me doing my first ever reading! Woohoo!

Here I am hanging with the cowboys!

This is the group of awesome authors I got to hang with all weekend!

Nick and I with Aaron and Susan from Mantecoza! We arae so ready to steam our sabers....wait that sounded wrong...oh well! heheh

And speaking of Mantecoza.....here is the rad trailer...get ready to STEAM YOUR SABER!!

More travels!!

Have you missed me my lovelies?? I've been off gallivanting around and my communication has been spotty at best, mostly because my stupid laptop died...may it R.I.P. I however, have acquired a new one and am back in action! Lookout world!! Anywho...I did a bunch of fun stuff, including Shadowcon!! It was a super fun con and I got crowned Ms. Shadowcon! Hell yeah!! I posted a bunch of new pics in my flickr album of my adventures!! So now that I have a reliable mode of writing its back to those deadlines before my editors kill me!! *grin* I have several fun things in the works I can't wait to announce!! Remember that coffeepunk I promised...I haven't forgotten...promise...so stay tuned.... ~Liz
